Moxe : health application
We have talked to Dan Wilson, CEO of MOXE company. He told us that this company started with once he worked in a software company called "EPIC Systems which relate to electronic medical record and where he met Mark Olschesky (CTO of MOXE) and started this company together. They both share the same phrase while whey were in EPIC which is " Do good, have fun and make money", they also believe in this philosophy so they choose to focus on developing technology to "serve the underserve"
We and MOXE have the same philosophy on serving the underserve in healthcare problem. Dan said that " Healthcare is what value the society.", we also believe in this. MOXE's application focuses on health insurance in USA to help the financial of people and insurance company, also educate people to use healthcare wisely and in a proper way. The application have 2 parts. Firstly "the survey" , the survey is from " Oregon Health & Science University " which is considered to be one of the best. MOXE said that some insurance companies have bought some pre-diagnose applications to help them reduce the ED visits and help their customers to know what diseases that they have, but the number of ED visits haven't decreased. According to this information, MOXE concluded that the survey is the best solution. at least, the better. After scanning people through the survey and educate them to have the same standard in using healthcare, this lead to the second part of the application. "Traige.me", this part will help the insurance company manages their clients to go to the nearest clinic which fit their diseases and has less queue. This application might seem to be benefit to just the insurance company to have less cost on providing healthcare , but if we see deeper, we'll see that the cost of health insure fee will decrease too, so it's easier for people who are lower than middle class can reach and have the healthcare insurance.
WHAT WE GET AFTER SPENDING TIME WITH "MOXE"...
We have to further find out whether the pre-diagnose application is efficient or not, since MOXE prefers the survey than the pre-diagnose and seems to be very happy to this option. Besides that, we have a new idea of using survey to develop and educate healthcare knowledge to people in rural area. Moreover, we see that it's very important to be in the place where the problem happens otherwise, we can not see the real problems and the solutions of it

Medic mobile
We didn't actually have a company visit to Medic Mobile. We just got lucky to be in a 2013 GSVC and Josh Nesbit, the CEO of Medic Mobile, was a keynote speaker in that day. Medic Mobile is a nonprofit company using mobile technology to improve health in under-servedand disconnected communities. As they are a nonprofit company, so they have a very simple and sufficient strategy to fit what they are and to be fast and sustainable. Their strategies are "make use of existing tools", "develop new tools only when needed", "focus on familiar technology with maximum reach" and "remain flexible and mission-driven". As we can see, the most important thing is their goal, so their innovation is not inventing but to adapt and to make use of the simplest things in that area. Their application can be use with cheap mobile phone and low-end computer. Medic Mobile has active projects in 20 countries in Africa, Asia, South Africa and North America, supporting frontline health workers, families, and patients in wide range of programs - from infectious disease surveillance in rural Malawi to emergency response after 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
WHAT WE GET AFTER SPENDING TIME WITH "MEDIC MOBILE"...
We think differently after knowing Medic Mobile. Sometimes, the most valuable thing is not the technology but it's how we make the best use out of the technology. The most important is the value to the problem, how we can solve it. Using the fancy way to solve the problem might be very attractive but the effective of the solution is what we should give the priority before anything. Josh and Medic Mobile teach us to find out the real problems and the picture when the problem is solved then we think about the method.
